Message Sharing

Part two of my church's The Walking Dead series is online. This week's message was about how God can bring dead things back to life. And that doesn't just apply to dried out bones, as referenced in the message, but it also applies to our dead dreams or passions. Enjoy!

Support a Sister

Our fellow sister, Jessica G., is participating in the 6th Annual Ground Zero Dragon Boat Festival. Part of the fundraising will benefit Ground Zero and part will benefit Teach My People, an after-school program. You can donate to Jessica by April 26th through her Fundeasy page:
Teenagers need hope. Teenagers need adults to look up to. Teenagers need Christ. Teenagers need to be in the Church. Ground Zero gives teenagers hope in Truth. Ground Zero reaches teens through authentic relationships with positive role models. Ground Zero shares Christ with teenagers through relevant events and connects teenagers to with the local Church to be nurtured and discipled. Ground Zero exists to see teenagers' lives transformed.
Ground Zero is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and, as such, operates completely on fundraising and donations. The money raised through donations enables Ground Zero to communicate the vision of the ministry to the public and funds monthly Impact Worship events. At these events, national speakers come to share their message with students and youth groups in the community. So far this school year, over 1,800 students from at least 50 churches have attended these events and more than 150 students have made life changing decisions as a result. Since 1998 Ground Zero has reached over 128,000 teenagers.

Message Sharing

My church started a new message series on Sunday. The title of the series is The Walking Dead. Part one was about death. It seems a little morbid, but it was a good message.

Message Sharing

This week my church had a pallet cleansing message in-between series. Sunday's message was about reputation and how people view you. It was a good reminder on how we are representing God.

Message Sharing

The final part of the "Is This Love?" series from my church was all about agape love. He refers to it as The 'God' Kind of Love. One interesting tidbit that I took away from the message is that sometimes we get so wrapped up in one kind of relationship or kind of love. For example, we may focus all our energy on our relationship with our husband/boyfriend and neglect our family or friend relationships. Or sometimes we focus so much on our children and neglect our spouse. My pastor really encouraged everyone to be balanced in our love.

I finally listened to part 3 of the "Is This Love?" series that I missed while in town for the alumni weekend. This part is called "The 'Brady Bunch' Kind of Love" and focuses on parenthood. Even though I am not a parent, it was a good message to listen to. It makes you think about how your parents raised you and causes you to consider how you might raise a family.

Enjoy!
